1. The 26th The Dream Composition 心情溶剂 is open to all citizens, permanent residents and foreigners, aged 28 and below (born after 1st January 1995).
*Do note that only the songwriter(s) which include the lyricist(s) and composer(s) need to be aged 28 and below. Whereas for other positions like vocalists and musicians who do not play any role in composing the song, do not need to be 28 and below.
2. Song entry(s) can be either an individual or group composition. Contestants can have more than one (1) composer or lyricist. However, contestants can only nominate one Principal Composer and one Principal Lyricist for the competition.
3. For each entry, the team should send one representative to register for the competition. The representative should be either the composer or the lyricist of the entry, or both.
4. All song entries submitted must not be officially published by or bound in contract with any recording company. The composer and lyricist must not be under any contract of recording company(s).
5. The song entry must not be a winning entry from any other competition(s). However, it can be an entry for another song-writing competition. Past top 3 finalists of 心情溶剂 The Dream Composition are ineligible to participate again.
6. The song entry must not be publicised or released after its submission for the competition and throughout the entire period without prior permission from the Competition Organiser. It can be publicised or released once the competition has ended.
7. Song entry(s) can be of any music genre; however it must not contain any expletives, political agenda or propagate any religious or racial discords.
8. By submitting the entries, the contestant declares, acknowledges and agrees that the contents of the entries submitted for the Competition are to be original works belonging to the respective names as stated in the entry.
9. The Competition Organiser reserves the right to amend the Rules and Regulations prior to the end of the Call for Entry, at its sole discretion. Any such amendment will make known via the Competition’s website and social media platforms, and it will be effective immediately, applicable to all entries, including submitted entries.
Submission Requirements
1. Each song entry must not exceed four (4) minutes and thirty (30) seconds.
2. For the English Category, at least 80% of the lyrics have to be in English. Similarly, for the Chinese Category, at least 80% of the lyrics have to be in Mandarin. Judges will have the final say if a song meets the requirement.
3. All songs should be submitted in MP3 format only (file size must not exceed 10MB). All entries must be titled in the following format.
For English category: Eng_English Name_Title (eg: Eng_Jason_Music)
For Chinese category: Chi_Chinese Name_Title in Chinese Characters (eg: Chi_杰明_音乐) No hanyu pinyin allowed.
4. All lyrics must be submitted in PDF format only. All entries must be titled in the following format.
For English category: Eng_English Name_Title (eg: Eng_Jason_Music)
For Chinese category: Chi_Chinese Name_Title in Chinese Characters (eg: Chi_杰明_音乐) No hanyu pinyin is allowed and no .doc document will be allowed.
5. All participants are to register through our Registration Page to allow the Organizing Committee to better prepare for the preliminary round of selections.
6. All entries must be submitted through our Submission Page by 10th September 2023, 2359. No late entries will be entertained.
All participants should receive a confirmation email within 7 working days after the Call for Entry closes (i.e. by 19th September 2022). Should you not receive a confirmation email, please email xqrj.tdc@gmail.com .
